Review: They have thought of everything in this beginner Basic Kit. It begins with the Designer Clear Dry glue with 2 different attachments to use for the glue. The first one is for a "normal" line. The metal tip is for fine lines and glue work. I love the way this one is able to get into smaller spaces, create handwriting and small designs. Just sprinkle the glitter on, tap off the excess and let it dry. The results are stunning!
I decided to try a few different things with this glitter. First, I tried the lace technique. Using the sticky paper and piece of lace with my kit, I cut the sticky paper to 4 3/4 X 4 3/4 to fit inside a 5X5 card. Then I pealed off the paper, stuck the lace on the sticky section and, using a spoon, gently sprinkled Lavender and Gold ultrafine glitter. When I covered it to my liking I tapped off the excess, pealed away the lace and had a beautiful design. Using Daisy White Cardstock cut 5 X 10 and folded in half and Orchid Bouquet Exclusive Ink from Close to My Heart, I inked the outer edge of the card and added the glitter lace paper to the center. I can't believe how amazing this card looks and I haven't done anything else to it yet. My next project was Easter cards. I used the Eastertime Stamp Set, Orchid Bouquet, Sunkiss, and Petal Exclusive Inks (CTMH). I inked the Easter Eggs onto Daisy White cardstock and then added glitter all over or as a design depending upon the egg. This makes me want to try using real eggshells next. Finally I made these Coaster Frames using Cork board coasters, ribbon, digital cardstock & patterned paper(Susie Q by Rebecca Myers, 3Scrapateers), Digital Template by Sarah Grimwood and of course--glitter! The results are amazing! I have never seen such gorgeous shine in a pot of glitter! I could get caught staring at the various colors all day. The shimmer is truly brilliant! The frame is packing serious bling!!! http://www.3scrapateers.com/galleryp...hp/photo/86141 http://www.3scrapateers.com/galleryp...hp/photo/86140 Easter Eggs: http://www.3scrapateers.com/galleryp...hp?photo=85971 Lace: http://www.3scrapateers.com/galleryp...85969/cat/1569 Last edited by amberlee16; 03-31-2008 at 08:58 PM. |

I am in love with this product!! It is easy to use and very versatile. In the kit we got a number of things in it; including 6 colors of glitter, clear dry glue and a metal fine tip attachment.
There was also a cute butterfly template in the kit, which I will definitely be purchasing more of. All you had to do was use the glue with the fine tip attachment and trace over the outline. Once you did that you gently shake some glitter on, and tap of the excess. Then you repeat the process with other colors filling in the butterfly. When it is dry you can cut it out and gently fold the wings and it looks like you have a butterfly floating off your project. Simply beautiful! I also used the glitter with my GluePad (stamp pad that is glue) and some stamps with beautiful results! With the fine tip you can glitter anything and everything! On two scrapbooking layouts I used it to create fun borders. I also used it to color in the spaces on some felt ribbon. An idea I came up with that I had the most fun with was glittering a photo. I printed the photo out on my computer and immediately took it out of the printer while it was still tacky. Then I very lightly sprinkled some of the Polar Bear colored glitter on top of it and shook it off right away. The picture looks so fun!! I know I will be buying more of this product, especially since it comes in over 400 colors!! I can’t wait to purchase some of the fabric dries clear glue and try it out on my sewing projects as well. I would recommend that you use art glitter on any glittering project you will be doing. With Love: Card featuring the Art Glitter butterfly. The little blue hearts on the bottom are what I used the Gluepad and Art Glitter on. The felt ribbon is colored in with Art Glitter. Chapstick: This layout features the photo that I tried the glittering technique on. I also used it to make fun borders and doodles. Five: I used art glitter to draw some borders and also to color in the frosting on a cute cupcake stamp! Dropping in...: I used Art Glitter to outline the clouds and the shapes. |

Glitter Bouquet
Credits: Superfine Glitter from Art Glitter Institute Ribbon, Buttons - from my stash Chipboard Flowers, Container, Stems, Grass - Doodlebug Designs Striped Paper - Brenda Cook @ 3Scrapateers Oh my, this was so much fun! Everything was originally white and I spray painted the grass and stems. I adhered glitter to each flower and attached a button to each flower. Glitter from Art Glitter Institute is a must have for my crafty projects and my official choice for sparkle and bling. Their glitter is far superior to what is available in our local stores. And, a little bit goes a long way. They have an awesome selection. Order some today, you will be glad you did. Glitter Butterfly
Credits: Superfine Glitter from Art Glitter Institute Cardstock/Envelope - from my stash Transparency - Hammermil Butterfly Pattern - Brenda Cook @ 3Scrapateers.com You know that I had to make a card, so I opted to create a design on a transparent sheet and I am so glad I did, because it made up a beautiful glittery butterfly. Oh my goodness! ArtGlitter sparkles like diamonds! It’s superfine glitter and wipes up easily! The colors of the glitters are absolutely stunning and my photos just don’t do them justice.
For my first project was to find something to fill some serious blank space on the wall in our downstairs bathroom. I went to Goodwill and bought an old mirror for less than $2. After cleaning it up, I painted it black with some left over paint from the dresser that is in that bathroom. Once the paint was dry, I started applying the “Designer Dries Clear” Adhesive by using the plastic tipped nozzle then I used a chiseled tipped sponge brush to spread it out. I followed the grooves in the frame of the mirror and only applied the adhesive to about 6 inches at a time then applied the glitter (#119 Cranberry Ultrafine Opaque). I just repeated the steps until I made it all the way around the frame. During this process, my 16 year old daughter (who knows everything LOL) kept telling me that I wasn’t going to have enough glitter to finish the frame. Well a little does go along way because I didn’t even use half of the container of glitter for the frame! So now I am on the hunt for something else to glitter to go with the mirror. After the glitter dried, I then attached a red and a black with white polka dots ribbons to hang it up with. My second project was for my desk because my kids tend to take all of my pens, etc from my desk and I had seen something similar at the front office at my son’s elementary school. I already had the ink pens in the school supplies stash so I went and bought a somewhat small to medium flower pot at WalMart, a small bunch of purple Gerbera type artificial flowers, a bag of glass nuggets and a roll of green floral tape. I started applying the “Designer Dries Clear” Adhesive by using the plastic tipped nozzle then I used a chiseled tipped sponge brush to spread it out along the top part of the flower pot that was not glazed. I then sprinkled on the glitter (#98 Amethyst Ultrafine Transparent) and repeated the steps until I had the entire rim of the pot glittered. I think applied the adhesive to the centers of the flowers and then dipped the flowers into the pot of white glitter (#298 Polar Bear Ultrafine Transparent). Once the adhesive was all dried, I cut the stems of the flowers and then using the role of green floral tape, wrapped the ink pen with the stem of the flower all the way to the end of the pen. I wrapped each pen, cutting the length of the stems a bit different lengths, and then I filled the pot with the glass nuggets and stuck the flower pens in. I don’t think that my kids will be walking off with my pens now! LOL I highly recommend ArtGlitter! It sparkles like no other glitter that I have seen before and it comes in so many different colors and textures! Simply Superior! Here is my glitter Art project-
I have had this frame forever so decided it would be cute for a photo of our grand daughter all dressed in pink feathers, glitter and even a tiara..but woudn't ya know it! I can't find the darn pic! grr... When I first opened the box I was amazed how much glitter and other supplies were included. The glitter itself was GORGEOUS sparkles galore! I have never seen glitter so fine as Art glitter. It's not chuncky at all like what I remember as a child(Back in the dinosaur era) . I took a photo of what comes in the kit. There is alot! You could glitter a whole room if you wanted to! The first thing I did was take the Designer Adhesive and wrote out Kaileighs name. Will it took me 8 tries to get it looking right! I had trouble writing in a straight line but all I did was take a baby wipe and wiped off the adhesive, blew it dry then proceeded on. No residue left or stickiness. Once I had her name written the way I wanted- using the enclosed silver fine tip- I shook on some of the Pink glitter. I waited about an hr to be sure the adhesive was dry then shook off the excess onto the paper I had used to collect it. Once the name was dry I took the enclosed double sided tape and created a small border. Once I was satisfied with it, I sprinkled on the Silver glitter to the tape. Once I had it all covered, I patted the glitter to be sure it was all stuck on. I then dumped off the extra onto the paper. Once finished I put the excess back into the container to save for another project. I am VERY pleased with the ease of use of the Art Glitter! This would be perfect to accent anything you can imagine! Once I find my photo I am going to add some die cut flowers and other accent pieces with, of course, some Art Glitter! My frame can be found here: http://www.3scrapateers.com/galleryp...86275/cat/1569
