In this sample, I used 3 techniques. I filtered using the brush, I filtered using the “Fill” feature, and I used the opacity slider. Here’s how I did it:
I began by painting the girl with a large soft brush using the “Paper Drawing” filter. If you paint in too much, you can switch to the erase brush and remove some of the filter effect. Then I chose the star brush (there are 13 different brushes to choose from!) and painted in some stars around her. My next step was to reduce the opacity to 50%, change to the “Partial Threshold” filter where I chose the 3rd preset, which is the one with the blue tones. I painted over the stars with that filter.
