Journaling reads: The day we met will be forever etched in my memory. It was December 22, 1989. Susan and I were baking Christmas cookies and, in typical Georgia fashion, it did not feel like winter... more like summer - it was about 65 degrees. We had the front door of the duplex open to coax a breeze into the place. We were chit-chatting when we heard a faint, “mew, mew, mew”. I went out the front door to have a look around, when you - a little puff ball of white and brown with GIANT blue eyes, climbed up my jeans pant leg, perched on my shoulder, and said, “mew.” My heart melted. I turned around and Susan was already saying, “you can’t keep it,” and Geordi, my black cat with pumpkin-colored eyes, and your companion for the next 12 years, was giving me the “you’ve got to be kidding me” stare. But how could I turn down such a sweet plea? To satisfy Suz, I **did** post “Found Cat” signs around the neighborhood and on campus, but no one called. We figured that some college kids going home for winter break just dropped you off on the roadside and figured someone would find you. Luckily, you found us. I took you to Dr. Mosher to have you checked out. He thought you were about 6-7 months old, so we have always celebrated your birthday on May 22nd. This year you will be 19. My sweet old lady. Deaf as a stump, but still purring loudly for cuddles. You are not as quick as you used to be, and you certainly cannot jump and scamper as you once did, but you are still as patient as ever with both boys, and it will be a sad day, indeed, when Queen Katie is no longer in our lives. I love you my sweet Katie-Kitty.
Thank you for Blessing my life. Top picture: Dylan, February 26, 2008 - 33 months, 6 days Bottom picture: Joshua, January 15, 2003 - 34 months, 9 days (not twins, but definitely brothers!!)
