Oh my goodness! ArtGlitter sparkles like diamonds! It’s superfine glitter and wipes up easily! The colors of the glitters are absolutely stunning and my photos just don’t do them justice.
For my first project was to find something to fill some serious blank space on the wall in our downstairs bathroom. I went to Goodwill and bought an old mirror for less than $2. After cleaning it up, I painted it black with some left over paint from the dresser that is in that bathroom. Once the paint was dry, I started applying the “Designer Dries Clear” Adhesive by using the plastic tipped nozzle then I used a chiseled tipped sponge brush to spread it out. I followed the grooves in the frame of the mirror and only applied the adhesive to about 6 inches at a time then applied the glitter (#119 Cranberry Ultrafine Opaque). I just repeated the steps until I made it all the way around the frame. During this process, my 16 year old daughter (who knows everything LOL) kept telling me that I wasn’t going to have enough glitter to finish the frame. Well a little does go along way because I didn’t even use half of the container of glitter for the frame! So now I am on the hunt for something else to glitter to go with the mirror. After the glitter dried, I then attached a red and a black with white polka dots ribbons to hang it up with. My second project was for my desk because my kids tend to take all of my pens, etc from my desk and I had seen something similar at the front office at my son’s elementary school. I already had the ink pens in the school supplies stash so I went and bought a somewhat small to medium flower pot at WalMart, a small bunch of purple Gerbera type artificial flowers, a bag of glass nuggets and a roll of green floral tape. I started applying the “Designer Dries Clear” Adhesive by using the plastic tipped nozzle then I used a chiseled tipped sponge brush to spread it out along the top part of the flower pot that was not glazed. I then sprinkled on the glitter (#98 Amethyst Ultrafine Transparent) and repeated the steps until I had the entire rim of the pot glittered. I think applied the adhesive to the centers of the flowers and then dipped the flowers into the pot of white glitter (#298 Polar Bear Ultrafine Transparent). Once the adhesive was all dried, I cut the stems of the flowers and then using the role of green floral tape, wrapped the ink pen with the stem of the flower all the way to the end of the pen. I wrapped each pen, cutting the length of the stems a bit different lengths, and then I filled the pot with the glass nuggets and stuck the flower pens in. I don’t think that my kids will be walking off with my pens now! LOL I highly recommend ArtGlitter! It sparkles like no other glitter that I have seen before and it comes in so many different colors and textures! Simply Superior! |
