Here's my spring soccer stars.

The journaling reads:

Spring soccer was an interesting experience, to say the least. I was excited that

Joey & Lillian could be on the same team, and it did make it somewhat easier to get

to games and practices. What I didn?t realize was just how much trouble it was for

our family -- Tuesday practices, Thursday and Saturday games, all at random times.

But it was funny to see how Joey & Lillian?s personalities worked with team sports.

They liked going to the games and occassionally kicking the ball, but aggression is

something quite foreign to them. Lillian ran ladylike all over the field or gently played

goalie, while Joey kept getting distracted. He would hang out near Lillian, pulling on

her shirt or trying to get her to laugh. Meanwhile, she?s telling him, ?Joey, leave me

alone,? and we?re yelling from the sidelines, ?Get the ball! Get the ball!?

From your Dad, 4/18/05 "Joey & Lillian play on a soccer team together. They both

don't have the slightest idea what they are doing and usually kick the ball the

wrong way, but they are improving and having fun. They both daydream

rather than pay attention to the game, but Joey's the worst about this. The

ball could be five feet in front of him and he'd still be thinking about something

else or doing a dance. Yesterday, at his game, he was out in the middle of the

field, all alone, daydreaming and not knowing what is going on, when out of

nowhere and by some unexplained, random act of nature, the ball came right

to him. He didn't have any notion of what was going on. I was yelling

'C'mon Joey, the balli s right in front of you! Kick it!' With seconds to spare

before the swarm of kids converged upon him and the ball, the rest of the

crowd took up the call, 'C'mon Joey!' And Joey woke up, stepped back and

kicked the ball a third of the way down the field, AND in the right direction!

Everyone cheered for Joey, and they took up the call a second time when

Joey woke up out of his dreamy trance to kick the ball just in time again.

Considering the circumstances, I was very proud of Joey. What a guy!"
